In this week’s edition, we’re pleased to introduce two new faces serving our community: Alexander James Farmer has taken the helm as Post Master in Ovid, and Jessie Salters now leads the Elsie Post Office. Both bring experience and enthusiasm for small-town life, and they invite residents to stop in and say hello. We also share news that a lawsuit filed against the City of Ovid and Chief Lisa Rousseau has been dismissed, with the court granting the defendants’ motion to close the case.
As spring arrives, there’s no shortage of community events to enjoy. The United Church of Ovid is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch on April 4, and the St. Johns Lions Club will hold its free Easter Egg Hunt at City Park that same day. Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the Chili Cook-off and Silent Auction at United Church of Ovid on April 18, the 5th annual LALA Golf Outing on April 18, and the Ashley Country Christmas casino bus trip on April 25. With spring sports underway, including a thrilling baseball opener between Laingsburg and Ovid-Elsie, and plenty of opportunities to connect with neighbors, there’s something for everyone this season.
