The Elsie Dairy Festival is almost here, and this week’s edition is full of everything you need to know. We are thrilled to feature Britney Jennings and Brandon Prater, the lucky couple chosen to exchange vows during the “Vows with the Cow” wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 20th. You will also meet this year’s Dairy Festival royalty, including Queen Laila Hock, plus the full schedule of events, from the car show and parade to the dairy dash and live auction. It is going to be a wonderful weekend celebrating our dairy heritage.
In local news, the Village of Elsie council had a productive and sometimes emotional discussion about a proposed fire agreement with the Elsie Area Fire Authority, with residents making it clear they do not want to pay more for protection than those living outside the village. We also have obituaries for Storm Spellman, Stanley Jablowski, Devin Richards, and Jan Eve Anderson, along with a reminder that the St. Johns Concert in the Park series kicks off June 17th with Jeff Baldori.
