The community is invited to show support for the Elsie Area Food Bank. The food bank and its volunteers work tirelessly to distribute much needed food for families across the greater community.

The ZCBJ Bannister Lodge, a BetterLife community, is hosting a Walk to End Hunger on Sunday, August 8th at 6:00 pm at the ZCBJ Hall in Bannister. The walk is 100% volunteer-organized and all funds raised will be donated to the Elsie Area Food Bank. The Elsie Area Food Bank services families in the greater Elsie and Ovid communities.

Individuals, teams and community groups are invited to participate and show their support for the local food bank and the families in the community. Any amount of monetary donations and non-perishable food items are appreciated. Participants who raise or donate at least $100 will receive an official Walk to End Hunger shirt and gift bag. The event will include raffles, live music, and games for both adults and kids.

Individual awards will be given to the person who raised the most funds and walked the most laps. Team prizes will be awarded to teams who raise the most funds, exhibit the most spirit, and to the largest team. School/youth awards will go to the team who raises the most funds and the team who shows the most school spirit.

The Walk for Hunger will take place outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, community members are invited to drop off donations and items at the ZCBJ Hall in Bannister at 6:00 pm.

Community members or businesses that cannot attend and/or would like to make a donation can contact Diane Bradley at 989-862-5378 or Anmarie Bradley-Dodd at aebradleydodd@yahoo.com. Local businesses are encouraged to make monetary or raffle donations and will be recognized in publications and invited to display a banner or sign at the walk site. All donations are tax deductible.

All members of the community are welcome for this fun and impactful event.
