Free Entertainment Carriage Days Weekend

By Deb Price, Editor and Publisher

The stage is set and the entertainment planned for the Ovid Carriage Days Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 9th, 10th and 11th will have something for everyone to enjoy.

What does the committee need you ask? We need at least 2 more contestants for the Rib & Chili Cook-Off on Saturday. Contestants for the rib contest will start their day at 7am and serving for the public starts at 2:30pm. The chili cook-off contestants begin at noon and public serving starts at 6pm. These two events are extremely popular with the public so having enough contestants is a must. So if you would like to join in the fun and share your talents please enter online at ovidcarriagedays.com or stop into the Meridian Weekly office and enter there.

For more information call Eric at (989) 666-2337. For those who have not yet submitted their entry for the parade please do so by Friday, September 2nd. For more information on the parade, call Jodi at (989) 307-3981. Pre-sale amusement ride tickets are now being sold at Ovid City Hall, Eatery 21 and The Meridian Weekly for $20, the cost will be $25 during the festival so get your today.
