Celebrating Laingsburg Food Bank Volunteers
Submitted by Ellen Link
Oscar Wilde said, “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.”
The Laingsburg Area Food Bank is fortunate to have many volunteers, who together help some in our community to meet their food and personal supply needs.
On Wednesday, August 24, Ed Carpenter and the Peacock Road Family Farm staff hosted an appreciation dinner for the volunteers. A wonderful time –and a delicious meal—were had by all. Thank you, Ed, and everyone at the farm who helped with the event.
The Laingsburg Area Food Bank, which is hosted by the Laingsburg United Methodist Church, is open Mondays 1-3 pm and Thursdays 6-8 pm. To find out how you can become a volunteer, call the LUMC at 651-5531
