Wolfpack’s Hailey Bila Shatters State Records in Softball Sweep of Spartans

LAINGSBURG — Wolfpack standout Hailey Bila sent officials scurrying for the record books May 18, when she plated eight RBI in a single inning.

The MSU recruit, also a sprinter for the LHS track team, laced two inside-the-park grand slams in the second inning of a 19-2 win over Webberville. Both home runs were liners to left field that split the Spartan outfielders. Veteran Wolfpack coach Jeff Cheadle said on a typical 200 ft. softball fence the laser shots would have cleared the wall — but Laingsburg’s outfield is bigger than most; the fence is back at 225 feet.
