The Thanksgiving Community Dinner

The Thanksgiving Community dinner was a great success on Thanksgiving Day in downtown Ovid.

Over 150 people (between dine-in and take-out) enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Suzanne & Chara from Country Kitchen. Desserts were donated from com munity members including 20 pies from Leonard Elementary. Larry Bosom delivered sixteen meals to shut-Ins. Donations from those who enjoyed the meal totaling $800 will be going towards the Ovid Christmas Basket Project.

Pictured here are volunteers who helped make the event possible. Back row (l-r) Sherie & Johnny Jankovic, Chara Potter, Randy Elwood, Suzanne Grubaugh and Diane Aldrich. Front row (l-r) Jamie Aldrich and brothers Adam & Matthew Jasicki who were visiting from out of state for Thanksgiving. The brothers are both Boy Scouts and when they learned of the community dinner event they called Suzanne and asked if they could help.

“We would like to thank all who helped that day and donated desserts. Special thanks to all who donated in Memory of Dick Ehlert for this event and the Christmas Basket program. We are truly blessed to live where we do,” explained Chara Potter.
