George and Marian Maron were co-owners of Maron’s IGA and Riverside Laundromat along with John and Clara Maron. They raised their six children Deb, Charlie Smith, Kathy Corey, Sheila, Tim Burgin, Erica, Jim Warfle, George Maron and Gregg Maron in Ovid.
They were involved with the First Baptist Church of Ovid, Marian was a volunteer with the Ovid Ambulance in its early years as well as the Acme Society. After retirement they volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels. They were married for 51 years and resided in the Ovid area all of that time. They enjoyed traveling to Texas to visit John and Clara and traveled to Alaska with them. They enjoyed spending time with their 7 grandchildren and their 9 great-grandchildren.
In their memory the family donated the picnic table that is on the south side of the Library as well as monies to upgrade the computers and whatever else the library could use.
