Lots of “Eggcitement” for Kids

Dylan Ely, age 2, carefully counts the eggs in her basket during the egg hunt at Ovid Healthcare.

On Saturday, April 9th, Ovid Healthcare hosted the return of their popular Easter Egg Hunt. Kids ages preschool thru 5th grade filled their baskets with eggs filled with treats. A life size Easter Bunny was onsite to greet the children. A bike giveaway was also part of the days events and the following were winners: Preschool, Jackson Potter and Olivia Arnette, Kindergarten & 1st grade, Elijah Pontack and Madalynn Martin, and & 3rd grade, Rhiley Coleman and Robert Dennis, 4th grade thru 6th grades, Gabe Lohr and Kala Koski. Special thanks to all the businesses, organizations and our resident families who donated to help make this event so successful.

On Saturday, April 16th, the Laingbsurg Lions Club hosted their first Easter Egg Hunt at Bates Scout Park. One hundred fifty kids took part in the first time event. The kids searched for candy filled eggs hidden in the park. Once the kids found 12 eggs, they returned them to event organizer Ed Arthur who in turn gave each child their choice of a stuffed bunny or solid chocolate bunny. Kids also found “Golden Eggs” during the hunt that were filled with cash. “We were very happy with the turnout for our first Easter event and look forward to a bigger event next year,” explained Arthur.
