Thank You…Thank You… On behalf of the Carriage Days Committee,

I speak for us all in thanking all who volunteered their time helping us pull off another successful Carriage Days Festival. We truly appreciate your help, without it, the festival would not run as smoothly as it did.

Special thanks to the two individuals who brought 2 new events to the festival, Lloyd McMaster, the arm wrestling tournament and Zach Loyne’s, the corn-hole tournament. Thank you Rich, Cody and Randy of the DPW for always taking care of what we need both before and during the festival.

To all who purchased raffle tickets and those who volunteered to sell them, we thank you. The rib and chili contests were again a popular event during the festival, thanks contestants for sharing your cooking talents, the ribs and chili was delicious.

Last, but not least, a great big thank you goes out to our two corporate sponsors, Tony Young from Young Owosso/St Johns and Ed Arthur from Modern Woodmen, as well as all those who made donations to make the free entertainment possible over the weekend.

The car show that was planned during the festival was cancelled due to the weather. It is going to be rescheduled for an upcoming Sunday in October to be held in downtown Ovid, watch the Weekly for details. Thanks to Nate Hofferbert and Vinnie Lello for sponsoring this event.

The committee will be holding a wrap-up meeting on Wednesday, September 28th at 6pm. We invite all interested persons to join us as we access this years festival and discuss what could be done better for next year. Come share your ideas with us.
